BEING
Recently, I’ve been doing a lot of strengthening and stretching exercises to address physical maladies. My efforts seem to be paying off.
“Does improving my physical condition mean that I’m preparing myself for more activity in the world?” I asked myself.
Then, it came to me that my improved fitness may not be for the purpose of expanding my ACTION in the world. It might be preparing me for more effective BEING in the world.
My stretching exercises serve to release old trauma that has long been lodging in the tissues of my body. Releasing those old burdens leaves me feeling more freedom, both in body and spirit. It helps me experience my existence in a new way. Certainly, that is an improved way of BEING.
