We light a candle in honor of Earth’s renewal. We welcome the spirit of renewal in each of us.

From the starkness, the severity, the brutality of winter springs forth an ethereal season of luxurious sweetness and color.

But spring is timid, uncertain. She peeks through winter’s blustery curtains, then hides her face again. She is not immediately ready to reveal her full beauty, but when she does, she steps forth in radiant glory.

We are fortunate to enjoy many spring-times in our lives, many opportunities for new beginnings after cold, dark passages on our soul’s journey.

Spring is sweet, soft, and subtle. Yet, she brings a powerful message of hope.

The coming of spring is like awakening from a long slumber. Our spirits are refreshed, our visions cleared to look out over the world with new perspectives.
