March is Brain Injury Awareness month, and I send wishes for hope and healing to all my fellow TBI survivors. It has been 7 1/2 years since the accident that caused my injury. I have recently released my second memoir about my injury, A DIFFERENT FRAME OF MIND: LIVING A FULL LIFE WITH TRAUMATIC BRAIN INJURY. This book has been my most daunting writing project to date. It started out as a shoe-box full of notes scribbled on scraps of paper. Sorting my ideas and putting my thoughts in order put a terrible strain on my struggling eyes and injured brain. There were times when I thought the challenge would defeat me, but I persisted. I am grateful that I had the strength to complete the project.
